Strategy & Tips

Master the art of faction warfare, from raiding enemy bases to defending your territory. This guide covers combat strategies, power management, and tips for becoming a dominant faction on your server.

Warfare and Strategy

Raiding

To raid an enemy faction:

  1. Reduce their power by killing their members
  2. Claim their territory when vulnerable
  3. Defend your claims from counter-attacks

Defending

To protect your faction:

  1. Keep your power high - avoid unnecessary deaths
  2. Have more members to maintain higher total power
  3. Build secure bases in claimed territory
  4. Maintain alliances for mutual protection

Power Management

  • Stay online to regenerate power over time
  • Avoid death as it significantly reduces power
  • Recruit members to increase total faction power
  • Claim strategically - don't overextend beyond your power; consider not claiming all possible land to provide a safety buffer.

Tips and Best Practices

For New Players

  1. Join an established faction first to learn the ropes
  2. Ask questions - most faction leaders are happy to help
  3. Contribute to your faction - help gather resources, build, and defend
  4. Learn the commands - start with the basics and expand from there
  5. Understand power - it's the most important resource

For Faction Leaders

  1. Set clear rules for your faction members
  2. Use the MOTD to communicate important information
  3. Manage permissions carefully to prevent griefing
  4. Maintain good relationships with potential allies
  5. Plan your claims strategically - quality over quantity
  6. Set up a faction home in a secure location
  7. Create warps for important locations
  8. Monitor your power regularly with /f status

Building in Claimed Territory

  1. Always claim before building - unclaimed builds can be destroyed
  2. Build away from chunk borders to avoid edge cases
  3. Use /f seechunk to visualize chunk boundaries
  4. Create a buffer zone of claimed chunks around your base
  5. Don't build too close to enemies unless prepared for war

Diplomacy

  1. Communicate with other factions before taking hostile actions
  2. Honor your alliances - reputation matters
  3. Use truces when you want peace but not full alliance
  4. Document agreements in faction descriptions or MOTD
  5. Be strategic about enemy declarations
